How do I market my page?

Drawing visitors to your page is almost as important as what you put into the page itself. Most Recent makes it easy to build your page and, fortuntily, the Internet makes it easy to attract users. Here are seven easy ways to start building traffic for your page:

Note: Never ask users to visit (click, view, etc) any ads appearing on your page. Doing so could get you banned both by our ad provider (Google) and by Most Recent.

1. Email your friends and family. Let them know about your page and tell them you are trying to grow your reader base. Ask for ideas and suggesitons for the best way to do this. Not only will they visit your page but they are likely to pass it on to others, bookmark it, and subscribe to your RSS feed. They may even point you to organizations and websites you didn't even know about.
2. Email the people you link to. If you link to the best content then email the owners of the content and be honest about what you are doing with the page. Tell them you are trying to collect quality information for your page and would like their input. Also, ask them to link to your page if they like the content. Don't push.
3. Post to message boards. There are thousands of Google Groups, Yahoo Groups, MSN Groups, and many other groups and message boards that are unaffilated. Find the few that are relevent to your content and post. As always, be honest about what you are tryin to do with the page and invite feedback.
4. Add it to your profiles. Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. Almost all social networks have components that allow you to link to the sites you care about and to share links with your friends.
5. Post to link sharring sites. Mixx, Digg, Reddit, Properler, etc. If your page is useful other users may vote up your page which can lead to a lot of traffic and a lot of attention from bloggers and other social link sites.
6. Get other Most Recent pages to link to you. Know of a good page that serves the same type of audience? Send a news tip to the editor and ask for a link swap. Better yet, go ahead and link to them first and then email.
7. Cautiosly post to directories and wikis. Many directories such as Yahoo and ODP offer places where you can submit your link. There are also many niche wikis and if you can find one that serves the type of community you want to attract go ahead and add a link to any researcoes page you have. It is important not to spam wikis as that will only get your link removed and your computer banned from future updates.
